Helping you move better, feel stronger, and live pain free — with expert support that fits your real life.
In Person (Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire) | Online | On-demand
We are all on personal journeys, mine started in Cork, Ireland and I live in Buckinghamshire now with my husband, daughters and dog.
Sometimes we travel through calm waters, with the wind and tide in our favour, while other times are more stormy and difficult to navigate.
We all need a crew mate to help steady the ship and steer the course at times. That's where I come in!
I see myself as a crew member who can jump aboard your ship and help you navigate the storms, then jump off again when you are ready to sail solo.
Keeping in touch between formal treatments by joining a Walk & Talk Physio clinic, a social gathering or an online session will, I hope, enable you to stay in the calm waters.
I'd love to be on your crew, whenever you need a steer in the right direction.
Why not Lisa Kerry Physiotherapy?
When creating this business I wanted the focus to be something bigger than me. I wanted to enable people to move well, to provide opportunities for them connect with me and with each other, and to provide support to people at whatever life stage they were at.
Thus, the 3 cornerstones of the movement were defined; Movement, Connection, and Life Journey.
Read on if you’d like to see what each means to me.
is at the heart of physiotherapy
Physiology, anatomy and physics are central to physiotherapy practice. I like to think of it like physical engineering, a 3D puzzle to solve.
Over 30 years I have treated 1000s of people of all abilities (sedentary to Olympic athlete level) to restore their movement.
I create bespoke solutions for each person and craft individual movement programs to sustain function.
we are social creatures
Establishing a trusted relationship with a client is essential for a successful physiotherapy partnership.
The more I invest in developing this relationship the better my clinical successes have been.
The Enable Movement offers clients / members multiple ways to connect with me, and each other; in-person on walks, in workshops, retreats and socials and online at Lisa Kerry's Physiotherapy Hub.
learning to start moving or trying to keep moving
Physiotherapy helps people at all stages of their lives. The range of people I help goes from a few months old to people in their 90s.
I can help people of all ages and where further specialism is needed (paediatric orthopaedics, women's health, rheumatology) I have a trusted network of colleagues to collaborate with or refer to.
Movement is essential at every age.
In my long and varied career I have been a sponge!
I have learned as much as I can from physiotherapy and medical colleagues. I have observed and analysed how others work and crafted my own style. I have completed 10,000s of treatments on bodies of all shapes, sizes and levels of fitness.
Working in health technology for 7 years at the forefront of e-learning and online therapy I created more than 70 rehab programs for different conditions, all peer-reviewed by leading physiotherapy professors.
A physiotherapy business with a difference...
I wanted to create a physiotherapy service that went beyond the clinic.
Not just escaping the confines of a sterile surrounding but something that offered an extended reach, between physiotherapy appointments.
I wanted to go above and beyond, to go the extra mile with each client. There are no off-the-shelf solutions.
Each journey is individually crafted and utterly unique to the client. My next development will be offering programs and courses online offering more ways to work with me.
The emergence of e-health
At Salaso Health I was part of the mission to harness the power of technology to make physiotherapy, and general health care, accessible and effective for millions of people.
One project involved writing over 70 injury prevention and injury rehab programs which were then scrutinised by three physiotherapy professors, known as a peer-review.
My methods received a firm rubber stamp and through technology we delivered those programs to 1000s of people.
2 Olympic Cycles
I worked within several sports governing bodies and for the English Institute of Sport in 2008 and 2012 Olympic cycles.
Here, I gained wonderful exposure to multiple types of sports including individual, team, racquet, combat, aquatic, artistic, and field.
I learned to be creative, innovative and able to adapt to different sports and situations and I believe this has helped me develop my inter-personal skills to a level that making a connection with my clients happens quickly and endures.
I had the most wonderful grounding in my first 10 years in practice when I worked in several London and Kent NHS hospitals. I developed a love of musculoskeletal and neurological rehabilitation.
I especially enjoyed complex trauma cases, and neurosurgical rehabilitation and specialised in fracture care as one of a pioneering group of physiotherapists who broke out of the physio department to work at the coal-face in A&E and fracture clinics. Thank you NHS.
A love of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions is born
Physiotherapy Training
The move from Cork to Whitechapel, London was quite a leap and totally thrilling at 18 years old.
My physiotherapy degree was a happy time learning across multiple subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and physics, in addition to sociology, psychology and social policy.
Most of my clinical experience was gleaned in London at The Royal London Hospital, a melting pot of humanity. An amazing experience to work there.
My year group will celebrate 30 years since qualifying in 2024, it has been fascinating to see where everyone has navigated to and through since.
